Sticker Art, The Fishing Edition

If you are just learning to fly fish, or even if you have been fishing for a while now let us take a quick minute and discuss world of window art, or sticker art, or Sticker Art.

I am not sure why people feel it is necessary to let the world know that “hey I fly fish”, but to each his own.

Over the years I have been known to adorn my vehicle with a sticker or two, you know to show solidarity and support for the companies or products that I use on a day to day basis. It is my duty and privilege to spread the word about a good product or good company.

Over the years I have noticed a growing trend when it comes to shear volume of stickers that people are able to get on a window, bumper, tail gate, or any other surface that will accommodate a vinyl sticker.

Now when I am out in public and I see a car with stickers on it, you can almost tell everything that you need to know about a person. See let us take a look at just how many stickers is too many and how many is the right balance. I know there will be a few of you that will comment and say, “is there such a thing as too many” and others will say “ are you kidding me”?

Work even Picasso would be proud of!

Now if we take a closer look at this wall of art we can tell several things about this individual. First off they are a skier that supports Loveland ski area, as well as Monarch Mountain, and possibly a “Dead Head”. The first impression is that the stickers may be holding the tailgate on, but I do not think it has fallen off yet. So, as you can see this person has a very vibrant personality.

Can you see out the back?

For our next example of sticker art, let us look at the back window of my friend’s truck. From our first impression you can see that he is a sports fan, I guess there are people who like the Blackhawks, and the Cub’s but I don’t hold that against him. However, you can also see that he’s a Muskie fisherman, and a Smallie guy, so there is some redemption here. “I think the shear size of the stickers is the real message”. This example could fall into realm of extreme, but heck, who needs to see out the back window?

Classy Look

Now this is a more classic approach to the wall of vinyl. You can clearly see that this person likes some of the local artists here is Colorado, as well as a local fly shop. This may be light in comparison the prior examples, but I think it makes a statement, of “hey I fly fish”, without screaming “HEY I FLY FISH”.

The Minimalist

Now, for our last example we see a canvas of glass with a mere whisp of the sticker flavor. Small unpretentious vinyl which is there to give the viewer a hint of what I am about. This person is strong and confident with his choice and placement of artwork. We can clearly see that he fly fishes, and may even be a Dead Head, due to the peace sign.

In conclusion

Well thank you for reading my nonsense story about the fine art of STICKER WARS. So, no matter what your taste or preference in the fine art of sticker placement, just go ahead and either give your ride a hint of sticker flavor or drive it right down the middle of the sticker zone to let others know what you are about.

Thanks for reading
